Fiji dialogue planned for New Year
Last Updated:
Fiji's interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, says a National Dialogue Forum on Fiji's future will begin in February.
But he says the dialogue process, called for by the international community and the Commonwealth in a recent visit by officials to Suva, will not distract from his government's focus on building the economy.
He says the economy will remain the key issue for the next five years as part of his government's reformist and modernising agenda.
The Fijilive website says Commodore Bainimarama was speaking in the lead-up to his 2010 budget address in Suva.
