Philippine journalists protest killings
Last Updated:
Hundreds of Philippine journalists and human rights activists have staged a protest demonstration near the presidential palace.
The journalists are demanding justice for 30 colleagues, among 57 people massacred last week in the south of the country.
In a statement, the Head of the National Press Club, Benny Antiporda, said the whole world has shown its disgust over what happened.
"The media workers killed in the massacre were not armed," he said.
Last Monday, in Mindanao, gunmen attacked a convoy carrying the family of a man planning to run for elections, lawyers and the journalists.
The mutilated bodies were later found buried in a mass grave.
