Iran informs UN about nuclear enrichment plans

Iran has formally informed the UN nuclear watchdog of its plans to start enriching higher-grade nuclear fuel.
Yesterday, the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced the plan to boost uranium enrichment to 20 per cent.
Iran says a letter has been sent to the International Atomic Energy Agency, informing them that the fuel is for a medical research reactor.
The move has been widely condemned by the international community.
