Two grenade blasts on eighth day of 'red shirt' protest
Last Updated:
Authorities in Thailand have reported two small grenade explosions as the 'red shirt' protest continues for an eighth day.
One grenade exploded near the defence ministry, wounding one person.
And another targeted a National Counter Corruption Commission office in Nonthaburi province, northwest of Bangkok.
But there was no damage to the building and no one was injured.
The protesters - who support the exiled former leader Thaksin Shinawatra and are calling for fresh elections - have agreed to enter into talks with the government but only if the current prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is present.
They had earlier declined an offer of talks with a senior government official.
Australia goes to the polls on August 21.
