Marshall Islands dismisses rumours of missile range closure

The Marshall Islands has told people living on, and near Kwajalein Atoll that the region’s biggest employer, the US Missile testing range is not closing, after rumours of a shutdown.

The Kwajalein Atoll in Marshall Islands is home to the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site, operated by the US Military, and it, the debris from World War Two and the effect of an increased population has caused major pollution.

The Marshall Islands’ MP representing the atoll, Tony DeBrum, says the US has agreed to clean up some of the worst affected areas, but the contractor doing it used language which led many locals to believe the base was to be shut down.

“Someone picked up the word closure and figured the base was going to close,” he said.

“I don’t think that there’s any intention over the horizon right now.”Watch Ungodly Acts (2015) Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download
